Electrician
apprenticeship is an on the
training in all aspects of electrical work that combines
on-the-job experience with classroom instruction including
Ontario Job Futures.
Apprentice electricians usually begin at half the salary of
journey persons - those who have completed their training and
have industry certification. Apprentice
constructor electricians receive pay increases as they
learn to perform more complex tasks in the field. When they
become journey persons, they increase their chances of entering
a well-paying job industry and may become supervisors or go
into self employment for themselves. The Electrical
Apprenticeship program at many of the training centres across
the US consists of classroom instruction and training for
apprentice electricians in either their first, second, third,
or fourth year of instruction.
It is mandatory that apprentice electricians attend a
specified number of hours of related Electrical training
each year unless otherwise determined by the respective State
apprenticeship committee. The minimum training for an
apprentice electrician is one evening per week for
approximately 4 hours. Apprentice electricians receive 4
credits per quarter for their classroom data hours, which
leads toward their completion of the Electrical Apprenticeship
Program. A minimum of 8000 hours of on-the-job training are
required for completion of the apprenticeship training and a
typical, apprenticeship programme will last two to four years
depending on industry requirements and labour markets. An
apprentice works as steadily as the average industry worker.
Like fellow workers, an apprentice can also be subject to
industry layoffs. However, most employers make every effort to
have the apprentice work as steadily as possible. Yet, there
are no guarantees mostly for lineworker though.
The minimum qualifications to be accepted in to the
apprenticeships electrician training
programme include that you must be at least 18 years of age
with an education level of a High School graduate or GED. You
may also be required to show that you have obtained at least a
‘C’ grade for Mathematics at High School. If you have a GED, it
must be a score in excess of 255. We are not going for hydro
machinist here.
The apprentice electrician training information costs
varies from State to Sate and sometimes within the State as
well but it's worth it for employment. The research course fee
will include books and universal fees payable at the beginning
of each quarter for ample careers. Students must complete an
application for admission and take the training college’s
placement exam upon entering the program or a buying cable
splicer. Before the commencement of the training programme
advertisements are placed at the Bureau of Labour and
Industries, local labour market and in newspapers calling
for applications. Usually the announcement or the advertisement
will give all the relevant information Training.
