An electrical Contractor’s Business Licenses is required for any person, firm, company, corporation or partnership in the business of installing, repairing, or maintaining any electrical wiring or device designed for conducting, consuming or converting electrical current. Without this licence this company will not be able to undertake any electrical contracts in the State that it is established.

There are a several types permits of electrical master Contractor Business Licensed that are required to operate.  One is known as the restricted licence. This licence is restricted to a specific type of electrical work.  Some of the coom restrictions are - Restricted Low Voltage which applies to Alarm systems, radio, television antennas, cable television, telephone and low-voltage communication systems (sound). The Restricted licence applies to electrically operated heating air conditioning systems, ventilation and refrigeration equipment utilizing oil or gas burners; temperature and control wiring. A restricted electrician may install electrical wiring from the point of distribution to, and including, the equipment or appliance being installed.

An electrician with a Master electrician licence is permitted in law rules to performing any type of electrical work benefits. There are no restrictions whatsoever to the electrical work that he can undertake and need no supervision like human resources. He can employ under him apprentice electricians.

The Inactive electrician licence meets all requirements for a Master Electrician’s License, but has no business affiliation.  The licensee forms is not required to have a Certificate of Insurance while on the inactive status it's just electricity, take it easy.  This class of master may not obtain permits, but may work as a Journeyman Electrician.  To reactivate a license held inactive for 2 years or longer, the licensee is required to submit to an examination dealing with recent code revisions.  He has to obtain over 70 percent to obtain reactivation of his Master electrician licence.

A Master Electrician License may be obtained by examination or by reciprocity (by using a qualifying license from another State that has reciprocity agreement with the State you are in).  These methods and services have different requirements

An Application for an Electrician’s License journeyman must be completed by the applicant and the Board of Examiners licensing and Supervisors of the respective County in the State will review the application and supporting documents for electrical work.  jobs search Applicants must have a minimum of seven years experience for a Master electrician licence or three years experience for restricted work as described above. The applications must be truthful and complete. The work experience in the electrical trade should have been under the supervision of a Licensed Master Electrician, three years during which the applicant supervised or was actively in charge of electrical installation of work.  A stipulated exam fee must accompany the exam application for approval.
