Electrician schools
Electrician schools
conduct courses or programs to teach students how to install
and maintain all types of electrical systems. Most programs
are practical experiences that impart the basic knowledge of
electricity to students.
Eucation Subjects taught under this programme include
classification of electricity, fitting conduits, electrical
installation, heating, lighting, and properties of conductors.
The students are generally sent to work under an experienced
electrician as some sort of internship or apprenticeship. On
successful completion of the vocational training course or
programme the Graduate electrician has the option of either
gaining employment or starting their own businesses.

The majority of
electricians find jobs in the construction industry yet, about
30% of all electricians work in other areas of industry like
electronics but not plumber though. During the
electrician employment career you may be involved in all
aspects of the wiring of homes, office buildings, hospitals,
educational institutions and more. Work for an electrician does
not involve only electrical wiring, as an electrician may also
install fire and smoke alarms, burglar alarms, telephone
systems, computer wiring and more. Job prospects for those
pursuing an electrician career continue to be in high demand as
the construction industry continues to grow and a number of
electricians are reaching retirement age.
At Electrician school the students are taught how to install
circuits and conductors and how to install and maintain wiring
systems. They become familiar with the National Electrical Code
and learn to apply the code to their day-to-day work. The
training focuses on blueprint reading, mathematics, power
systems, safety, circuit analysis, and cabling. Many programs
are business-oriented and also cover subjects like small
business ownership for those students wishing to start their
own.
There are online electrician schools as well. They also
offer similar courses. You can do it at your pace. However, for
on the job training you may have to find a suitable place in
your home city. There are several such trade schools online and
you may be able to see their individual requirements and fee
structure if you get to one of the web sites.
Full time electrician and electrical schools are
available in all the States even online. In most states there
is more than one. Most of these engineering schools List
are known as community schools or colleges so check the Yellow
Pages for Services. Those who choose a career as an electrician
should be in good physical condition. I would call them able
bodied. They should be healthy and able to lift moderate loads
by them selves. They should have excellent agility and manual
dexterity. Because electricians are often required to
distinguish between wires of various colours, they need to have
excellent colour vision. If you do not fit this bill, do not
attempt it you will never be approved.
