Texas certified
electrician is a recognised person and can
undertake jobs in Tx. TX is one of the earliest states to
bring in legislation to certify electricians.

TX certifies several categories of electricians they are the
heart of the comunity of these men and women. The categories
include, Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician,
Residential wiring electrician, Electrical Contractor and so
on. Electrical contracting means the business of designing,
installing, erecting, repairing, or altering electrical wires
or conductors to be used for light, heat, power, or signalling
purposes. Sometimes a water heater may come across your
path. An electrical Resources contractor can
undertake the installation or repair of ducts, raceways, or
conduits for the reception or protection of wires or conductors
and the installation or repair of any electrical machinery,
apparatus, or system used for electrical light, heat, power, or
signalling. A Residential wireman electrician is a person
licensed under to only perform electrical installations in
single family and multi-family dwellings not exceeding four
stories.
Title electricians involved in the installation of
electrical equipment in a ship, watercraft other than a
floating building, railway rolling stock, aircraft, motor
vehicle, or recreational vehicle do not need the Texas
certificate or licence to carry out their work. Similarly,
electricians who handle the installation of electrical
equipment underground in a mine and in self-propelled mobile
surface mining machinery and its attendant electrical trailing
cable too are exempted from obtaining a licence to do the
job.
An advisory board consisting of three Master Electricians
providing electric job services, three journeyman electricians
and three members of the public decides on the issuing of
licences to electricians. This is so they can perform human
site electrical work.
A Master electrician who wishes to obtain a licence for
employment should have at least 12,000 hours of on-the-job
training under the supervision of a classification Master
electrician with licensing. He should have held a journeyman
electrician license for at least two years and he should have
passed a master electrician examination administered by the
Stare authorities. Having obtained the licence, a Master
Electrician may perform all electrical work, including
electrical work performed by a master sign electrician,
supervise an electricians below his level of licence, verify
compliance with on-the-job training requirements for issuance
of a master electrician license, master sign electrician
license, journeyman electrician license, or journeyman sign
electrician license and can serve as a master or record for an
electrical sign contractor.
An person who wishes to obtain a license as a journeyman
electrician must have at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job
training under the supervision of a master electrician for
electricity and should pass a journeyman electrician
examination administered by the State authorities.
To carryout any electrical work without a proper licence is
a punishable offence.
